MCA division polls: Pahang round-up

KUANTAN: Incumbent Kuantan MCA division chief Datuk Ti Lian Ker retained his post, defeating his challenger Chang Hong Seong by an 82-vote margin.
Ti polled 159 votes while Chang, who is the Teruntum assemblyman, received 77 votes.
Laow Weng Choon defeated incumbent Datuk Wong Fock San for the deputy division chief post.
The four new vice-presidents are Datuk Ng Koong Sinn, Datuk Soon Shy Chwan, How Chee Soon and Lau Kim Tang.
“I want to further strengthen and unite the members so that we will get back the support of the community," said Ti.
“I hope YB Chang will come back to the fold as he and his team will not be sidelined,” he said, adding that the contest also showed that the democratic process was very much alive in the party.
Meanwhile, Chang congratulated Ti and his team over the win and hoped they would lead the division to greater heights and work harder to strengthen the party at all levels.
